Seeking participants for trekking tours in Hoang Su Phi

To reduce costs, two hikers already registered for trekking routes around Hoang Su Phi are looking for two more participants to join them. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the Upper Tonkin region, far away from mass tourism, and to meet local communities in an authentic and friendly way—especially the Red Dao ethnic group.

Detailed Program

Day 1: Arrival in Hoang Su Phi (L, D)

Arrival in Tan Quang, welcome and transfer to Hoang Su Phi Eco Lodge, the starting point for trekking through terraced rice fields, mountains, forests, and authentic ethnic villages.

Arrival at Hoang Su Phi Lodge in the afternoon. Check-in to a private bungalow with a large terrace offering panoramic views of valleys, mountains, and terraced rice fields.

You are then free to take short walks around the lodge to discover the daily life and traditional activities of the Red Dao people.

Dinner and overnight at Hoang Su Phi Lodge.

 

Day 2: Hoang Su Phi Lodge – Light Treks (B, L, D)

After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy light trekking through ethnic villages toward Khoa Thuong Village, home of the Long-Tunic Dao ethnic group.

Lunch with a local family.

In the afternoon, continue trekking through terraced rice fields, forests, waterfalls, and ethnic villages. Along the trail, you will meet warm and welcoming local people—an encounter truly at the edge of the world.

Return to Hoang Su Phi Lodge to relax. Later, take part in a cooking demonstration, where you will learn how to prepare Nem (spring rolls) and Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pancakes).

Dinner and overnight in a bungalow.

 

Day 3: Hoang Su Phi Lodge – Trekking (B, L, D)

After breakfast, walk to visit the Thong Nguyen weekly market, held only on Sunday mornings. This colorful market is a gathering place for various ethnic minority groups such as the Red Dao, Long-Tunic Dao, Tay, H’mong, and Pa Then.

Continue trekking to Nam Nghi Village, home of the Red Dao people, to learn more about their daily life and traditional activities.

Lunch will be a picnic or hosted by a local family.

In the afternoon, trek back to Hoang Su Phi Lodge via a different route, allowing you to discover diverse landscapes and ethnic communities.

At the lodge, you may join local farming or daily activities if you wish. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dance and folk song performance by the ethnic groups of the region.

Dinner at the lodge restaurant and overnight in a bungalow.

 

Day 4: Hoang Su Phi Lodge – Trekking – Departure (B, L)

After breakfast, continue trekking to Lang Giang Village, home of the Tay ethnic group.

Lunch with a local family.

In the afternoon, transfer by private vehicle back to Tan Quang crossroads, where you will take a public bus to Hanoi. End of services.
